MATT DIEROLF

A graduate of Boyertown Area High School and Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, Matt Dierolf had the opportunity to compete both locally and collegiately. Dierolf captained the 2003 and 2004 Bears that competed in High School State and District playoffs and was an All Pac 10 First – Team selection both years.

Playing in his senior campaign at Boyertown High School, Dierolf went 21 – 0, and his team ranked #24 nationally according to Baseball America before losing in District play.

In the fall of the same year Dierolf was awarded the Sportsmanship/Hustle Scholarship by the Berkshire Baseball Club, where he played on the 18 and Under fall travel team, finishing with a record of 34 – 3 – 2.

As a senior he participated in the Carpenter Cup baseball tournament at Penn University on the Montgomery County team that finished 1 – 1.  He was also a three year member of the Boyertown Legion Bears, and in 2004, along with his Bear teammates, he went to Corvallis, Oregon to compete in the American Legion World Series, compiling an astounding 54 – 4 overall record; the team finished in the Final Four in the nation.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Education degree and a Pennsylvania State Teacher Certificate to teach English.

A four year PSAC scholar – athlete and three time Dean’s list award winner, he enjoys both being able to work with kids and reading a good book, graduating Magna Cum Laude in the class of 2008.

Athletically, at Kutztown Dierolf caught six pitchers that moved on to play professionally and won back-to-back PSAC championships in 2005 and 2006.   As a junior Dierolf earned a trip to the NCAA Division II World Series in Montgomery, Alabama as part of the 2007 Kutztown University Golden Bears, who finished with a final record of 49 – 7 and at one point were ranked #1 in the nation according to Baseball America.

Currently, Matt hopes to find a full-time teaching position with the opportunity to coach baseball.  After coaching Hank King’s inaugural fall team, guiding them to a 3 – 3 record, he hopes to continue to be a positive addition to Hank King’s staff and looks forward to the chance to improve your son’s athletic and academic performance level.
